Manual depth review
Use manual pages and command paths before running unfamiliar tools.
Understand the pattern
Junior operators build confidence by gathering evidence before changing systems.
man- Read a short built-in teaching reference for one supported command.
For real administration, check the installed command manual and version too.
which- Find the simulated executable path for a command.
A path lookup does not prove that running the command will succeed.
Worked example and expected result
$ man systemctlSYSTEMCTL(1) NAME systemctl - inspect simulated services SYNOPSIS systemctl status|is-active|cat|list-units [service]
Exit status: 0. The command completed successfully in the training fixture.
$ which systemctl/usr/bin/systemctl
Exit status: 0. The command completed successfully in the training fixture.
$ man sshSSH(1) NAME ssh - inspect simulated SSH client behavior SYNOPSIS ssh -V | ssh -G lab NOTE Network connections are not made in this training terminal.
Exit status: 0. The command completed successfully in the training fixture.
Explain it
Apply it elsewhere
Keep the momentum.
Complete the lab, then explain and apply the pattern.
