Understand the pattern

Pod description brings together events, scheduling and container state. Use the reported reason to choose a focused investigation.

Interpret the evidence

Verify the image reference and registry access before tuning application memory.

A tempting mistake

ImagePullBackOff is fixed by increasing the model temperature.

All names, measurements, prices, versions, and thresholds in this exercise are fictional training data. The evidence supports this bounded scenario, not a claim about a live provider.

Worked example and expected result
$ cat /opt/ai-lab/cases/aiops-serving-resources-008.json
{
  "fixture": "Fictional training data; not a live measurement.",
  "pod": "gateway-7d9",
  "reason": "ImagePullBackOff",
  "image": "gateway:missing-tag"
}

Exit status: 0. The command completed successfully in the training fixture.

$ jq .reason /opt/ai-lab/cases/aiops-serving-resources-008.json
"ImagePullBackOff"

Exit status: 0. The command completed successfully in the training fixture.

$ printf '%s\n' 'verify-image-reference' > /home/learner/lab/aiops-serving-resources-008-decision.txt
(no output; exit 0)

Exit status: 0. The command completed successfully in the training fixture.

Try a variation

Name the assumption that would have to change for “verify-image-reference” to stop being the justified action. Do not silently replace missing evidence with a guess.

Explain it

What does the evidence in “Describe a serving pod” justify?

Apply it elsewhere

A colleague concludes: “ImagePullBackOff is fixed by increasing the model temperature.” What should you do?

Keep the momentum.

Complete the lab, then explain and apply the pattern.
