Prepare a prompt rollback

Prompt rollback should restore a known prompt/configuration pair. Changing only one component can leave incompatible variables or validation rules in place.

Understand the pattern

Prompt rollback should restore a known prompt/configuration pair. Changing only one component can leave incompatible variables or validation rules in place.

Interpret the evidence

Restore the verified p6/s2 pair rather than mixing p6 with an unverified schema.

A tempting mistake

Prompt text can always be rolled back independently of its schema.

All names, measurements, prices, versions, and thresholds in this exercise are fictional training data. The evidence supports this bounded scenario, not a claim about a live provider.

Worked example and expected result
$ cat /opt/ai-lab/cases/aiops-prompts-config-011.json
{
  "fixture": "Fictional training data; not a live measurement.",
  "rollback_prompt": "p6",
  "rollback_schema": "s2",
  "current_schema": "s3",
  "pair_verified": true
}

Exit status: 0. The command completed successfully in the training fixture.

$ jq .rollback_schema /opt/ai-lab/cases/aiops-prompts-config-011.json
"s2"

Exit status: 0. The command completed successfully in the training fixture.

$ printf '%s\n' 'restore-verified-pair' > /home/learner/lab/aiops-prompts-config-011-decision.txt
(no output; exit 0)

Exit status: 0. The command completed successfully in the training fixture.

Try a variation

Name the assumption that would have to change for “restore-verified-pair” to stop being the justified action. Do not silently replace missing evidence with a guess.

Explain it

What does the evidence in “Prepare a prompt rollback” justify?

Apply it elsewhere

A colleague concludes: “Prompt text can always be rolled back independently of its schema.” What should you do?

Keep the momentum.

Complete the lab, then explain and apply the pattern.
